About Us

Hopson Solicitors offer a personal service to our clients at affordable rates without hidden charges. We are proud of our reputation as a firm with a realistic, pragmatic approach and commercial attitude.

Guy Hopson has in excess of 20 years’ experience in the legal profession. He formed Hopson Solicitors in October 2010 with a view to developing a niche practice focusing on the provision of a personal, pragmatic service to its business clients. Guy worked previously as a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial department at Harrison Clark, having also spent time at BPE and Willans, all in Cheltenham. Born and raised in Gloucestershire, Guy is well known among the business community and indeed, among other professionals.

Guy was joined by Andréa Hopson on 1 April 2011 when the business became a partnership. Andréa has in excess of 20 years’ experience in employment law having been a Partner at both Harrison Clark and BPE in Cheltenham. Before this she worked at Clarks in Reading and Wiggin & Co.

Andréa is very ably supported by Rachel Stephens, a partner in our employment team,

Guy’s team is bolstered by Andrew Hough, an associate solicitor and Jessica Morgan, a solicitor in our corporate/commercial team .

They have added a strong dispute resolution department headed up by Tim Wheeler which is going from strength to strength.

Gareth Parry has joined the firm as our head of Wills and Probate and adds an extra “string to our bow” with an ability to advise clients on Wills, Probate and Estate Planning.

At Hopson Solicitors, we like to understand our clients’ business and to form solid relationships from day one. Please get in touch for a no obligation initial meeting with straight forward professional advice.

"From an HR user point of view I have found the advice given to me by Hopson Solicitors to be helpful, in depth without being too full of legal jargon, prompt, and articulate. They have been able to advise me on how to deal with potentially difficult situations in such a way as to calm troubles waters, whilst remaining to the point. Draft letters in particular have proven extremely useful as they are very well written and cover all necessary details."

"The way in which Guy and his team dealt with our legal requirements was excellent. When requiring sound & prudent Legal advice during a company re-structuring process, the last thing you want is the process to hit a snag. Guy ensured all formalities were clearly laid out and agreed by all parties prior to the transaction being duly completed. Not an easy task when dealing with a foreign shareholder.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Hopson Solicitors to other businesses."

"Our software & data services business has grown considerably in recent years, with many new commercial contract formats being needed as a result. Guy and Andrew have a wonderful knack of very quickly understanding our needs, and through their consultative approach, which can include conversing directly with our clients, they have a proven track record of creating contracts that work, first time.

For a developing company like ours, Hopson Solicitors are, in effect, our legal department, meaning we can concentrate on what we know best, happy in the knowledge that they're there when needed. I cannot recommend them highly enough."
